Women's Assault Survival Program - W.A.S.P.™
WHEN PREVENTION FAILS... ARE YOU READY?
In this world of growing uncertainty, there is little that takes precedence over your safety. While official institutions like the police force and security guards exist to protect and to serve, an attack can come with brutal intensity and blinding speed when you are alone. To be prepared for the worst, you must train with this reality in mind. This program is focused on empowering women with the tools, skills and understanding necessary to ensure their own safety and security with confidence.
WHAT IS THE BASIC PREMISE WASP?
Most women's self defense courses are typically made by taking a set of carefully picked techniques out of a larger repertoire that are relatively easy to learn. Many times, this is taught as an intro to the larger system the techniques came from. As a business model, the attendees are typically told that to take their abilities to a higher level, they would need to enroll in membership to their class. Women's Assault Survival Program (W.A.S.P.) is unique because it is not an introduction to a larger system. Instead, W.A.S.P. is a stand alone assault survival program, which means that everything taught and practiced has one aim in mind, and one aim only... to maximize the chances of survival, while minimizing the chances of becoming a target!
LADIES... HERE ARE SOME FACTS AND STATS!
Every 98 seconds a woman is sexually assaulted in America, and 1 out of every 6 women have been the victim of a SEVERE sexual assault.
37% of offenders have prior felony convictions. 90% of assaults are perpetrated by a single offender.
55% of assaults occur near the victim's home. 29% occur while traveling to and from work, school, shopping or running errands.
In 89% of the assaults, there was no presence of a weapon whatsoever.
THE S.T.I.N.G.™ OF W.A.S.P.
If you look at the statistics, there is a high possibility of becoming a target of an assault. However, almost all of them (90%) were done by a single attacker, meaning a one on one scenario. Almost 90% of the assaults (89% to be exact) happened WITHOUT the presence of a weapon! This means that by simply having a weapon available with the skill to use it properly could mean an 89% increase in safety. This is why every WASP needs a STING. Our program has a heavy emphasis in the use of the Yellow Jacket, as well as bladed weapons as a major part of your self protection strategy. But the S.T.I.N.G. of WASP is much more. To ensure proficiency and a thorough understanding of exactly what you need to do in the event of an assault, WASP emphasizes 5 important steps to maximize safety before, during and after the attack. This 5 pronged approach to threat management is the STING of WASP!
THE BOTTOM LINE!
As a woman you’re allowed to be attractive, professionally and financially successful as well as healthy and, if it’s your inclination, athletic. It’s ok that you’re educated and you are a person of means and substance. You can come and go to any event, at any time, at your leisure. It’s not ok that someone targets you when you’re alone or most vulnerable simply because you are a woman and you may not carry a gun, you really don’t want to spend allot of time learning complicated martial arts or you don’t have a military grade understanding of threat analysis to better insure your safety or wellbeing.
Basically the nuts and bolts is all about addressing real scenarios that are backed by statistics, and formulating instinctive training programs to work with a persons instinctive responses vs a trained response. This is important because a trained response absent of an instinctive basis will inevitably fail under pressure. Memorized techniques fail if the situation surpasses one's comfort level or confidence in that technique. Our program is not about how to do more things with more tools, but how to be more efficient with less things, based on instinctive responses that exist beyond our decision making process. That way they hold under pressure. With that in place, the tools are extensions of the same, only with unique attributes specific to the tool.
